Celebrated Australia Day in style this year, at the Coogee Pavilion. It’s not your garden variety pool party, beers-beach-BBQ event, or a venue where you can don an Australia-flag-cape, which is how a large part of the nation choose to spend the day.
As I’m currently in Sydney for the next two weeks, working at FAMOUS Magazine, my friend Nicci (follow @nicola_leech) and I decided to spend our day a little differently. Coogee Pavilion is a beautiful restaurant and bar located right on the shoreline of the famous Coogee beach, just off Bondi.
After battling Sydney’s public transport services (on a public holiday was not an easy task), I was ready for a strong drink. Stepping inside the restaurant, I was immediately drawn to the beach style interior, lush hanging gardens, and modern welcoming vibes of the pavilion.
Safe to say it was the best Australia Day I’ve had, full of amazing gourmet food, brilliant service in the restaurant, and being surrounded by a lively, energetic crowd certainly helped.
